Domino’s 5 Year Plan

In the stakeholder’s strategy for 2026, Dominos launched the “Hungry for More” strategy. This strategy will bring in more sales, there will be more store launches, and the profits will increase. This “Hungry for More strategy started Q4 of 2023 and is projected for the next 5 years. This graph will show the growth through Q3 of the 2026 year. The defined strategy is More delicious food, Operational excellence, Renowned value, and Enhanced by best-in-class franchisees.

Business question: How will Dominos make “More delicious food, that brings in more profits”?

To drive up sales, Dominos introduced a peperoni stuffed cheesy bread. A new marketing campaign called “romancing the food” was launched to promote the deliciousness of food made at Dominos. Dominos tracker app lets the cook know when the best time to pop the pizza in the oven is and also lets the customer know when the pizza is on the way to their doorstep. This keeps the pizza hot and ready to eat as soon as possible. Dominos has partnered with Microsoft to utilize generative AI in the pizza ordering and bring the operations of physical stores to the next level in technology. This is in Beta testing stage. In the operations Dominos has made it easier for everyone to get rewarded and made the ordering processes and point system cheaper. This bumped them down from premium pricing into a maximizing of benefits for all. They also introduced the emergency free pizza, a one-time offer that focuses on the little emergencies in life and offers a hero, Dominos.

Dominos just partnered with Uber eats to offer a new layer of delivery for everyone. This adds benefits to the drivers and customers that live farther away and will attract a high-end consumer willing to pay more.

The plan is to grow 1,100 net stores annually and 5,500 in 5 years. Is Dominos on track to reaching their goal in Q4 2028?

No, in the years between 2023-2025 Dominos was unable to maintain opening 1,100 stores per year globally. They are currently behind by 1,000 stores.

The pizza chain, Dominos, would like to know how late it should stay open. They conduct a survey of pizza eaters that order from Dominos. Would it be beneficial according to trend to stay open later in the evening.

The surveys gathered among stores found that the favorite pizza is the all meat pizza followed by the Thai chicken pizza. The most number of sales occur between 11AM and 12pm. Extra staff will need to be ready between those times. After 9:30pm people don’t order as many people so only 1 or two people will need to be set up until the end of the night and store closure. Dominos does not currently stay open later than 11pm in most locations so it would need to have a few stores open 24 hours to see if there is a need for late night craving stops.
